Preparation for spring

Spring is just around the corner.

だいぶ暖かくなってきたこの頃。


I started to prepare the organic garden for spring planting with Montessori groups of children. We weeded and turned the soil over last week. I'm thinking to plant potatoes with them next month.

「自然農の畑」も春に向けて準備を始めました。月に1度のクラスに来てくれている子達と最近は農作業に取り組んでいます。雑草を取って、土と堆肥を混ぜあわせました。


Some helped with watering vegetables.

「お水やり」はなぜか子供たちにとても人気です。


We spread the compost around blueberry trees.

農場のブルーベリーの木や野菜に堆肥をあげました。


We found that the farm has more than 80 blueberry trees!

数えてみたらブルーベリーの木は80本近くもありました！


Some children raked the leaves.

熊手で落ち葉を集めて、


We covered the compost around the blueberry trees with these leaves so that the soil won't get too dry for them to grow.

このように一輪車に乗せて、ブルーベリーの木の周りに撒きました。土が乾燥しすぎないようにする為です。


It's getting warmer in my area of Japan and I find it very nice for children to be outside with this spring weather. They enjoy nature hunt, picking up spring flowers and drawing pictures outside.

外で過ごすのが快適になってきたこの季節。子供達もお花を摘んだり、木の枝やどんぐりを拾ったり、思い切り絵を描いたりと楽しそうに外での時間を過ごしています。
