筆記試験は無事終了！励ましのメールをくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました。試験後、クラスの仲間とビアガーデンで乾杯した後は、友人とオーストリア、ザルツブルグへ行ってきました。
After a lot of “proost!”, I left for Salzburg with my friend for short holidays. Salzburg(Austria) is so close from Munich, just 1.5 hours by train, and is such a culturally rich city!
They have beautiful castles, huge salt mine which became the origin of the name of this city (Salz in German means Salt), world famous marionette theater, many nice museums, yummy cake “Zacher torte”, beautiful nature where “Sound of Music” was filmed, and it’s the place where Mozart was born and grew up.
I’d like to share all what I’ve seen with you, but as the time is limited, I decided to write about three most impressive and interesting things.
ミュンヘンから電車で1時間半。 ザルツブルグは小さいながらも、歴史的、文化的にとても面白い街。名前に表わされているように、もともとは塩の生産、取引で有名になった街ですが、（ドイツ語でザルツは塩という意味です。）今では文化都市として広く名前を知られています。マリオネットシアター、モーツアルトの故郷、映画「サウンド・オブ・ミュージック」の舞台、そして数々の美術館。
3日間で数えきれない場所を訪れましたが、今日は印象に残ったもの3つをご紹介します。
The first one is Salzburg theater, which is the second largest in the world following the one in N.Y. 2200 seats it has, and during the festival season, more than 2000 people are working for the play. When I joined the theater tour, no wonder so many people need to work! It's enormous!!
ザルツブルグの劇場。ニューヨークに次ぎ、世界で2番目に大きな劇場です。劇場にはなんと2200座席！フェスティバルシーズン（7，8月）には2000人以上のプロフェッショナル達が舞台の成功に向け仕事をしているそうです。
There was an opening concert of “International Summer Academy” of Salzburg University with free-entrance. The university offers the opportunity for young music students to have lessons from world-famous musicians for 2 weeks in summer. The number of students who can be accepted sounded very limited and the competition to get the place in this course gets very high as the applicants come all over the world.
In this concert, the students who joined the course last year played. They are all young!, passionate and ambitious. I could feel the positive energy coming into me. After 4 hours of this concert, my battery got completely charged! I’m again ready for working for my oral exam and concluding my Montessori training & “Life in abroad” in a good way.
ザルツブルグ大学主催の「インターナショナルサマーアカデミー」、オープニングコンサートがありました。
大学が音楽家を目指す若者のために、著名な講師からレッスンを受けられるよう2週間のセミナーを毎年行っているそうです。このセミナーに参加できるのは、世界規模の競争を勝ち抜き、選び抜かれた限られた人数のよう。このコンサートは昨年このセミナーに参加した学生さんたちによるもの。4時間、エネルギーと情熱に溢れた演奏を聴いていたら、なんだか力が湧いてきました。残り1か月、口頭試験まで、またがんばれそうです。
In Salzburg museum, I happened to know that E.F.Schumacher, the author of my favorite book “Small is Beautiful”, was a student of Leopold Kohr, the economist, jurist, social science professor from Salzburg.Also he was the one infulenced the country Buhtun to have GNH (Gros National Happiness) to assess the country's sisutation rather than GNP.You can read a bit more about GNH with the link below.

The exhibition started with these sentences.
ザルツブルグ博物館での「レオポルド・コール」の展示は、深く印象に残りました。世界的なベストセラー「スモールイズビューティフル」の著者、シューマッハーがコールの教え子として彼の思想を受け継いでいた事をここで発見！そしてブータンの掲げたGNH (Gross National Happiness; 国民総幸福量）指針に国の経済コンサルタントとして影響を与えたのもこのコール。
レオポルド・コールはザルツブルグ郊外の村出身の経済学者、社会政治学者、法律家、ジャーナリストであり、本人は「哲学的アナーキスト」と自身を表現していたようです。
“You don’t have to be a philosopher to be able to think the following: The human being can only be happy with himself and his own if he lives in space that he can comprehend, if he has an idea of the size, the constitution and nature of his living environment. For then he is not just a random part of a random world, but can take part in his own world, can help to shape it, as a human being together with other human beings. Because this world has human dimension and has no need of over-dimensional humanity. This is the idea of Leopold Kohr. You don’t have to be a philosopher to think about this, but you have to be one to think of it.”

この後の文章を考えるのに哲学者である必要はない。人間は以下の状況にある時に自分自身に満足ができ、幸せであることができる。周りの環境の大きさ、成り立ち、そして自然、これらが自分の理解できる範囲であること。この条件下にある時、人間は世界のどこかに所属しているのでなく、それぞれが固有の社会の一員であり、人間として他の人間と共に（人間らしく）、その社会の形成に影響を与えることができる。この社会は、人間レベルの「次元」（大きさ）でしかなく、個々の人間の大きさを超えた超次元の博愛精神は必要ないのである。（この大きな世界を個々の人間の知覚できる範囲に切り取り、そこで自分の所属する社会形成に関わっていくことの大切さ、を述べています）これは、レオポルド・コールの考えである。この文章を考えるのに、哲学者である必要はないが、これを考え（行動する）者である必要がある。
He opposed to the “cult of bigness” in social organization and economic growth, and promoted the concept of human scale and small community life. “He argued that massive external aid to poorer nations stifled local initiatives and participation. His vision called for a dissolution of centralized political and economic structures in favor of local control.” During his life, he was active supporting the independence movement of, for example, the island of Anguilla near Puerto Rico, Wales in U.K.
コールは大きなものを良しとする社会構造そして成長のみを追求する経済に反対し、人間サイズの小さなコミュニティーの大切さを説きました。「貧しい国への巨大な外からの援助は地元の住民のイニシアチブそして国の建設に向ける積極的な参加を阻んでしまう。」コールは地元の人達が自治権を持てるよう、政治的、経済的な集権化に警鐘を鳴らしたのです。生涯を通して、プエルトルコ近くのアンギラ島、イギリスウェールズの独立運動を支援しました。
彼の考えは現在の「スロームーブメント」へと繋がっていきます。「大きければ大きいほど良い」「成長すれば成長するほど良い」社会でなく、個々が人間らしく「つながり」（人と人、人と自然、人とモノ、過去ー現在ー未来とのつながり）を感じながら生きられる社会、コミュニティーの在り方を考える運動は日本のみならずヨーロッパでも広がっているのを感じます。
In his last years, he received the award, Right Livelihood Award, so called alternative novel prize,"for his early inspiration of the movement for a human scale." After that, Salzburg created the Leopold Kohr Academy to put his theories of regional autonomy into practice.

晩年に、コールはスウェーデンでノーベル賞に値するとも言われる"Right Livelihood Award"を受賞し、その後、ザルツブルグにはコールの考えを学び、広めるためレオポルド・コールアカデミーが建設されました。上のリンクは残念ながら、ドイツ語のみです。
The picture above is the map of Europe, but it’s divided by “historical region” like Bavaria, Brittany and so forth. They are all more or less the same size, around 8-10 million inhabitants, and Kohr thought they are ideally suited to forming an ideal federation of Europe. “The problem with Europe is – as in every federation – one of partition, not of the large unit."
上の地図は、コールの考えた理想のヨーロッパ連邦。国でなく、歴史的に文化を共有する地域ごとに、人口概ね800－1000万ごと、大体同じサイズに分かれています。日本人の私から見ると、突飛な考えのような気がしますが、このバイエルン州の人たちは今でも「バイエルンは残念ながらドイツに飲み込まれてしまった」なんて、まるで自分はドイツ人でないような口ぶり。「ミュンヘン、オーストリア、スイスの一部は昔はバイエルンでみんな一緒だったんだ。ドイツの北部の人間よりも国は違ってもこのアルプス麓のバイエルン人の方が近く感じるよ」とクリスチャン。
This exhibition reminded me of some books I wanted to read last summer, and still haven’t. Just to remind myself, I’ll write them down here.
